How a company markets their products and services to consumers plays a large role in the profitability of that organization. This strategy becomes more complicated when an organization operates in a global marketplace. Companies such as McDonalds use a marketing approach that provides for segmentation of the consumer based on their culture and behavior. Understanding the various customer segments allows for McDonalds to target or position their products to appeal to those consumers.
